Mr Bojangles Most Frequently Asked Questions

How much space do you need?
Very little space needed as long as I have access to a plug socket I can pretty much fit anywhere.
How is it best to time things?
When it comes to timing as long as there is some form of idea on times then I can always accommodate. If you over run (within reason) or want to bring forward the performance I am happy to follow the flow of the night.
Can I pick the singers playlist?
I do have a huge list of songs I sing but if there is a particular song/s from the list you want to make sure I sing that is absolutely fine.
Where will you travel to?
It's difficult to answer specifically. I tend to travel just over a 100 mile radius of Essex however. Don't let that put you off as there may be particular circumstances where I can travel to locations beyond this.
Can I see you play live?
I am more than happy to invite you down to a public performance such as a restaurant for example.
Will you learn our special song?
I'm happy to learn (if informed with enough time) to learn a particular song providing it's rat pack.
Is the video on your website a true reflection of your performance?
The video of me performing is a very stripped back recording which means that yes it does give a true reflection of my performance without any form of editing whatsoever.
How do I book you?
A simple deposit is taking to pen you in the diary and thats it's till night/day of event when the remaining fee is collected (unless another form of final payment had been agreed prior to event).
Are you able to DJ in between sets?
I do offer a laptop Dj service for additional fee which then means I would also provide LED lighting for the disco.
Can we make DJ requests in advance to my event?
Absolutely. If there are any songs or if you want to do a whole list of music you want played for the whole night then I am more than happy to follow your request.
Can we use your sound system for speeches?
Yes you can.
What equipment do you use?
- 2 x lightweight speakers with built in apps (for compatibility)
- Laptop with all music on it
- Wireless sure mic
- Wired mic
- LED lighting (for disco when dj'ing)
How long do you play for?
It all depends how long you want me to sing for:
- Either 2 sets of 45 minutes (common layout)
- 3 sets 30 minutes
- 1 solid hour block
- 2 sets 45 minutes
What time do you start and finish?
Providing you have given enough time for the scheduled performance times then I can start and finish whenever. But these things we can discuss when enquiring.
How long do you take to set up?
I can normally be set up within 20 minutes but always safe to say 30.
Can I provisionally book you?
You can but if another enquiry comes in for that date I would inform you of this and then it will be down to a first come first serve basis.
Can my sisters/bosses/daughters dog sing with your band?
To keep the atmosphere fun and friendly I dot mind if someone wants to sing a couple of lines with me. But again it all comes down to the circumstances.
What will you wear?
I always come dressed in a full suit and tie unless it's a wedding when I change tie to dicky bow.
Do you have PAT and PLI certificates?
Yes. If you require them or the venue does I can simply email them.
Why should I book Mr Bojangles?
If you like the big band classics from the rat pack then I'm the crooner you need! I like to add a fresh young feel to the songs and always like to encourage people attending to either join in or simply give them something to smile about.
How much does it cost to book the you?
All fees are completely tailored to your particular event.

Do you have any specific requirements?
No, as long as there is space to set up with a power source I'm ready to go.
What type/size venues are you able to play at?
From intimate to large ball room / corporate events.
How loud will you be?
It's never easy to tell how loud or quiet you are in relation to room size but if on the night you feel it's too loud or equally too quiet it very easily fixed.
What is your power requirement?
Just one standard 13amp power socket.
